The drug "Vertimek": purpose, rules of application and storage
"Vertimek" belongs to the group of insectoacaricides of chemical origin. It quickly destroys ticks, thrips, mining insects and some other pests. Instructions for the use of "Vertimeka" are quite simple: you need to dissolve a small amount of the drug in 10 liters of water, and then spray on the foliage, after putting on a mask and other personal protective equipment.

* However, for best results, it is better to alternate Vertimek with other insectoacaricides. If the drug is used for several seasons, mites can develop a certain resistance to it.
The main analogue of the drug is a means of domestic production "Fitoverm". Many gardeners speak positively about it, although they admit that this is not the original - the insecticide is less effective. On the other hand, Fitoverm is cheaper than Vertimek.
Instructions for use
Method of using the product:
- First put on a mask, goggles and protective clothing.
- Prepare a standard container with water (10 l). Dissolve 1 ml of the drug in it. If a different volume is required, recalculate the dosage (depending on the specific type of pest).
- Spray the green part of the plants (foliage, stems) with the solution, making sure that it does not drain into the soil. It is important to ensure that the surface of the sheet is completely wetted. For greater efficiency, you can add a little liquid soap to the solution (1-2 ml per 1 liter of water).
- After processing, the plants should be covered with foil and left for 1 day.
As a rule, only 1 treatment is carried out, since the drug is too toxic and sufficiently effective. But in the case of mass invasions of pests, secondary processing can be carried out after 3-4 days, if the temperature during the day is consistently above +25aboutC, or in a week, if the temperature is about + 20-24aboutC and below.

Security measures
The use of the drug should be carried out strictly in accordance with the instructions, since the active substance is dangerous for humans, as well as for warm-blooded animals. Therefore, when processing, you must follow these rules:
- the procedure should be carried out only in a respirator (mask) and gloves;
- be sure to wear protective clothing that does not allow moisture to pass through;
- eating, drinking and smoking during processing is prohibited;
- at the end, wash your hands and face with soap and water.
If the drug gets on the skin, mucous membrane or inside, it is necessary to immediately stop work and provide emergency assistance:
- In case of contact with skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
- If the product gets into your eyes, rinse them with running water for 10-15 minutes.
- If the compound gets inside, drink 3-4 glasses of water and induce vomiting.
- If symptoms of poisoning appear, you can also take 2-3 tablets of activated charcoal with plenty of water. But it is categorically impossible to give the victim barbiturates - they enhance the effect of "Vertimek".
- If after the measures taken, the characteristic symptoms are not eliminated (for example, burning of the skin, in the eyes, heaviness in the abdomen, etc.), you should immediately consult a doctor. It is also necessary to get medical attention if the vapors of the solution enter the lungs.
The drug is dangerous not only for humans, but also for beneficial insects. However, it almost does not remain on the surface of the foliage, but is absorbed by the tissues of the plant in 2 hours. Therefore, it is possible to release bees from the hive on the day of processing, after waiting 3-4 hours.
The drug can be stored in a wide temperature range - from -15aboutFrom to +30aboutC - within the shelf life (maximum 4 years). Avoid direct sunlight, high humidity, access to children and pets. Store separately from food, medicine and feed.
The working solution must be used on the day of preparation - it is not subject to long-term storage. After use, the containers must be thoroughly washed with soap and not taken for other purposes.
What could go wrong
Treatment with the drug may have practically no effect if it is carried out:
- in rainy weather;
- with strong wind (more than 5 m / s);
- in the daytime.
It is optimal to process in the early morning (before 8:00) or late in the evening (after 20:00), when the sun's rays at least do not directly hit the plant. No cases of drug overdose have been identified, however, careful adherence to the instructions is mandatory. Violation of the rules can negatively affect bees, some types of beneficial mites, etc.
The drug "Vertimek" really effectively destroys ticks, thrips and other listed pests. If their number is not too large, one treatment will be enough. However, the product is quite expensive and, moreover, is toxic to humans, animals and beneficial insects. Therefore, its use requires special care.
