Cucumbers Kibria F1

Successful experiment of Dutch scientists

This hybrid was bred by the Dutch working for Rijk Zwaan. The experiment became really successful - the Kibriya cucumbers turned out to be early ripening, relatively unpretentious, with excellent taste. 9 years have passed, this hybrid has become popular all over the world, and in Russia it was entered into the State Register of Breeding Achievements in 2011.

Kibriya cucumbers grow well in the North-West region and Central Russia. Particularly experienced gardeners grow Kibriya all year round in greenhouse conditions, leave good reviews about the yield and taste. The plant feels great in a film greenhouse, however, it is not recommended to plant it in an open bed (below we will tell you why).

Description of the variety Kibriya F1

Cybria is a patenocarpic hybrid. For the formation of ovaries, pollination with the help of insects is not required, everything happens by itself. To grow such cucumbers, you need to buy seeds every year, they are not formed in the fruits.

If you plant in open ground, then one way or another, insects will begin to pollinate the plants during flowering, and Cybria really does not like this. If this type of pollination is allowed, the fruits are small, crooked, curved. Hence, the conclusion is drawn - open beds are not suitable for growing.

A healthy plant of the Kibriya F1 variety grows quite vigorously, with practically no restrictions on length. Lateral shoots grow moderately, do not require frequent pinching, flowering type is female. The leaves are medium-sized, rich green. Up to 2-3 ovaries can form in one node.

Yield

Breeders promise a high yield, and expectations are met with proper plant care. On 1 m² you can grow about 17-19 kg of delicious cucumbers. When compared with other varieties, for example, with Alice and Courage, this is twice as much. The main thing is to comply with all conditions for growing the variety.

Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

Like any cultivated plant, Cybria F1 has its advantages and weaknesses, which need to be paid special attention to.

So, the advantages of the variety:

  • high productivity;
  • keeping quality;
  • good transportability;
  • good fruit taste;
  • self-pollination;
  • suitability for growing in any region and even all year round.

There are many advantages, it is for these qualities that Kibriya is so fond of gardeners. However, there are downsides.

Disadvantages of the variety:

  • whimsy in dressing and fertilizing;
  • vulnerability to greenhouse heat and stuffiness;
  • the root system is often subject to root rot.

Separately, you can endure the high cost of seeds.Moreover, it was said above that for the cultivation of these cucumbers they need to be bought annually.

Growing features

There are two ways to grow Cybrias: by seeds or seedlings. The second method is preferred.

If the gardener decides to grow this variety of cucumbers from seed, he should know that the manufacturer is conducting pre-sowing preparation. This means that special manipulations at home are not required. The seeds are planted in cassettes or peat pots - this guarantees the safety of the seedlings when transplanted into the ground.

Soil preparation

To ensure seed germination and the formation of healthy, strong seedlings, it is necessary to select the right soil. Ph should be equal to 6. If the level is different, gardeners carry out liming of the soil. If land is taken from a site, it must be processed from pathogenic flora. For example, you can subject the earth to heat treatment (calcining in the oven) or treat it with a solution of potassium permanganate. The land should be rich, containing peat, perlite, vermiculite. For reliability, it is recommended to purchase ready-made nutrient soil in the store.

Sowing and transplanting

Seeds of Cybria F1 are usually used in winter-spring and spring-summer turns. If you plan to grow in greenhouse conditions with heating, seeds for seedlings are sown at the end of December. The first seedlings with well-formed leaves appear in January. They are planted in a permanent place, after a couple of days put trellis and tie up.

When planted in an unheated greenhouse, the seedlings are prepared by April-May. Each bush must be tied up.

Kibria F1 Care

After all of the above, it may seem that caring for this variety of cucumbers is quite troublesome. However, this is not quite true. If you adhere to some rules, the process will not be too burdensome.

Basic rules for the care of Kibria:

  • watering is carried out as the soil around the plant dries up;
  • water is poured in advance, brought to a warm state and settled;
  • after irrigation, the land is delicately loosened - air is provided to the roots;
  • regular weeding of the beds is necessary as the weeds grow.

If you follow these recommendations, you can already expect a not bad harvest.

Bush formation

As mentioned above, after transplanting cucumbers, trellises are placed next to the main place, the plant is tied up. It is recommended to choose a trellis with a height of at least 2.7 meters. Then it is imperative to blind the first 4-7 sinuses on the main stem. Very carefully cut off the lateral processes and ovaries, leave about 2-3 pieces on the knot. Throw the main shoot over the trellis, lowering its tip down. Count 4-5 leaves and pinch off the shoot.

Thus, a bush is formed, access to sunlight is provided to the entire plant, and it will be convenient to harvest.

The bushes are planted like this: 2-3 seedlings per 1 m². With early planting - 2 seedlings per 1 m².

Top dressing and spraying

Cyber is vulnerable to peronosporosis, so it is necessary to prevent this disease. To prepare a liquid mixture for processing a plant, you can use "Quadris", "Ridomil Gold", "Infinito".

To ensure yields, it is important not to forget about timely feeding. You can make them yourself from organic matter using mullein or horse manure, or purchase a ready-made complex fertilizer.

The ripe crop is removed daily, without interruption. As soon as the greens approach a length of about 11 cm and a weight of 100 g, they must be plucked.

Miron: “We planted Kibriya in a greenhouse, fruiting from May-June until the first frost. Cucumbers are dense with thin skin, juicy and sweet. Ideal for preparations and salads. I liked the variety very much, we will plant more. "
