Pros and cons of the variety

Advantages:

  • It is resistant to most pests and diseases with proper care.
  • The bushes are compact, low, branching slightly, therefore thickening of the plantings does not lead to the appearance of diseases and does not harm the crop.
  • The yield is friendly, all fruits are formed at about the same time.
  • No garter or shaping is required.
  • Pepper is also used for long-term winter preservation, it withstands transportation well, has a dense skin that is not prone to cracking.

Disadvantages:

  • Compact fruit size. Due to the fact that one fruit weighs on average 40-50 years, the total harvest is reduced. During the tests, yields were obtained on average 1.6-1.8 kg per 1 km2 plot.
  • An early ripe variety allows you to harvest the first crop in at least 105 days only when grown in a greenhouse and a greenhouse. If grown in open ground, then the growing season reaches 120-130 days.

The variety does not tolerate transplanting, so the seedlings are not dived, the seeds are immediately planted in separate cups. Pepper also requires hardening, reacts well to daytime temperatures within 20-24 degrees, at night - 11-13 degrees.

Growing features

This pepper can be grown in three different ways.

The most common option is outdoors. Planting pepper seeds must be germinated in a damp cloth, sowing can be carried out no earlier than March - early April. The soil is used light, loose.

On average, seedlings are planted in open ground in late May - early June. At first, for acclimatization in the beds, it is protected for 2-3 days with a film from the cold wind and open rays of the sun. When planting seedlings, the bushes are placed densely, buried to the leaves, pressed down on the roots along with the ground.

Beans, cabbage and peas are considered the best predecessors for this variety of pepper.

All processes that appear below the fork in the trunk must be cut off, since there are no ovaries. Due to the amicable ripening of fruits, the entire crop can be removed in 2-3 approaches.

In a protected ground - in a greenhouse or greenhouse - the harvest can be obtained almost 2 weeks earlier.

  • Seedlings can be planted under a film shelter or in a greenhouse in the second half of April.
  • In protected ground, it is important to maintain air humidity and temperature no higher than +25 degrees, since the variety does not tolerate drought and overheating.
  • Since the temperature in greenhouses is usually higher, the dry soil crust must be loosened after watering.

At home, on a balcony or windowsill, pepper can be grown as a perennial.

  • For the dwarf Winnie the Pooh variety, small pots (about 20 cm in diameter) are suitable. You can also place seedlings in long trays.
  • The planting is carried out thickened.
  • At home, fluorescent lamps, fluorescent lamps or phytolamps are used to increase the length of daylight hours in winter. In the summer, they put the pots on the balcony, loggia, veranda, or move the bushes into open ground.
  • Due to the lack of wind in the apartment, the pollination process is disrupted, so you need to use brushes, shake the plant several times or walk over it with a piece of cotton wool.

With any growing method, cold drafts should not be allowed, the temperature should not drop below +10 degrees. In such conditions, the plant's immunity suffers, it becomes susceptible to decay, growth stops and fruiting.

Reviews of gardeners

Winnie the Pooh bell peppers have long been popular with many gardeners. Reviews about him say that this variety is easy to grow due to the compactness of the bushes, is not susceptible to pest attacks and most pepper diseases. Another advantage is that there is no need to trim and tie bushes. They have dense trunks, do not branch, and at the same time give a large friendly harvest. Among the advantages of the variety is the possibility of growing in the northern regions, for example in the Urals, as well as at home - on the windowsill.

Experienced gardeners recommend regularly as part of the care of this variety of pepper remove the inferior processeswhere ovaries do not form, and as they ripen, harvest to stimulate the emergence of new ovaries. It is impossible to plant hot peppers nearby - cross-pollination is possible, as a result of which the sweet bell pepper will taste bitter. With the onset of early frosts and a decrease in night temperatures, the bushes can be dug up, placed in containers and transferred to a room, where they will bear fruit for a long time with appropriate care.
