The yield indicators are excellent.

A characteristic such as the color of the fruit depends on the subspecies - in technical ripeness, the pepper can be red, green or yellow. The taste is necessarily sweet. The fruits contain a large amount of vitamin C, which can be stored there for 3 months after harvesting from the bush.

In terms of taste, Ramiro has a similarity to bell peppers, but it is sweeter and more aromatic. There is no bitterness or pungency at all. A slight acidity is hardly noticeable, which is explained by the increased content of vitamin C.

Pros and cons of the variety

Ramiro has certain advantages that distinguish him favorably from competitors. These include:

  • the large size of the bush, which gives a lot of fruits;
  • the possibility of full maturation in greenhouse conditions;
  • high yield rates;
  • excellent taste characteristics;
  • juicy sweet pulp.

No significant shortcomings were noticed by the gardeners. Certain inconveniences are caused only by the fact that Ramiro peppers are grown exclusively in seedlings.

Growing features

An important role in choosing a site for planting Ramiro peppers is played by the illumination of the site and previous crops. It is best to plant seedlings in beds where zucchini, cabbage, cucumbers or pumpkin were previously grown. To avoid infection with infections and viruses, a week before picking the seedlings, the area is treated with a solution of copper sulfate. During the digging of the beds, ammonium nitrate is added.

Ramiro does not like stagnant moisture in the ground and drafts. To protect the plant, a mound with a height of 30 cm is made on the site, and indeterminate varieties of tomatoes are planted in the aisles. The depth of the hole for planting peppers of this variety should be about 15 cm. Before planting a plant there, the soil is watered with warm water.

In regions with hot climates, it is advisable mulch young plantings so that the water does not evaporate so quickly and the peppers do not experience a moisture deficit.

The frequency of irrigation of peppers of the Ramiro variety is in direct proportion to the stage of plant development.

  • During the development of seedlings and pouring the crop, it is watered 1 time in 7 days.
  • During the period of ovary formation, watering is increased up to 2-3 times a week.

Pour 6 liters of water per square meter of area. After each irrigation, the soil is loosened, otherwise the Ramiro peppers will not receive the oxygen necessary for the roots.

This variety is very capricious and demanding in terms of fertilizers. Fruits will only meet the variety description given by the producer if root and foliar dressing are applied simultaneously.

  1. The first feeding is carried out 14 days after planting the seedlings on the garden bed. For these purposes, use a solution of mullein or chicken droppings.
  2. The second root dressing of Ramiro peppers is carried out immediately after flowering. This time superphosphate and potassium nitrate are used. They not only help to strengthen the root system of plants, but also improve the palatability of the fruit.
  3. In the process of fruit formation, drooping of ovaries... To prevent this phenomenon, the bushes are treated with a solution of boric acid, taken at the rate of 2 g per 1 liter.
  4. To prolong the fruiting period, superphosphate and potassium nitrate are applied immediately after the first harvest.

During flowering, you can spray the plants with sweet water to attract bees, which will carry out additional pollination of the flowers. This procedure significantly increases the yield.

Foliar dressing and spraying is planned for the morning or evening hours. Also, work can be carried out in cloudy dry weather so that the leaves do not get burned.

To prevent infections and viruses, Ramiro peppers are recommended to be molded twice during the growing season.

  1. The first time this is done after the formation of the first branch, cutting off the inflorescence. By this period, the bush already manages to grow up to 20 cm in height.
  2. The procedure is repeated after the formation of the 10th leaf. Only 2-3 strongest shoots are left, and the rest are carefully cut off. A properly formed pepper bush contains no more than 25 ovaries.

With an increase in humidity and a decrease in temperature, Ramiro pepper is affected by fungal infections. To prevent this, the landings should be treated with the "Barrier" or "Zaslon" means. These fungicides are widely used for preventive purposes. They contain nutrients that enhance the immunity of peppers. If the problem is very serious, then Ramiro is treated with copper-containing preparations. They are used at least 3 weeks before the planned harvest.

Ramiro pepper is affected by pests:

In order to prevent their appearance on the site and damage to the crop, it is possible to treat the plantings with insecticides.Supporters of organic farming are advised to use infusions prepared on the basis of garlic, wood ash and onion husks.

Reviews of gardeners

Gardeners, who have tried the cultivation of peppers of the Ramiro variety, from their own experience, agree that the fruits have an excellent sweet taste. Although initially the appearance of the crop was alarming. Some summer residents took part of the harvest in green, and allowed the other part to fully ripen. Thanks to this contrast, not only delicious, but also very beautiful blanks for the winter were obtained.

A resident of Samara noted in his review that in order to grow Ramiro, the loamy soil on his site had to be enriched with compost and a decent amount of organic matter. The bushes grew tall and had to be tied up. During the season, regular watering and feeding were carried out. The pests on the peppers did not annoy at all, so no processing had to be done. At the same time, it was not possible to collect a record harvest. About 2 kg of fruit were removed from each bush. But the presentation and taste characteristics were very pleased.

Residents of other regions left similar responses. Only a few of them managed to achieve the maximum yield from the plants. At the same time, the best indicators were among those gardeners who cultivated peppers in greenhouses.

Ramiro peppers are great for indoor greenhouses and open beds. Its main advantage is the unusually sweet taste of the fruit and the aesthetic presentation. It is thanks to these characteristics that many summer residents allocate an honorable place for this pepper in their beds. Subject to the rules of agricultural technology and the accompanying weather conditions, you can get a rich harvest of tasty and healthy fruits. The disadvantage of this variety is its exactingness to soil and care, as well as a seedling method of growing.
