Varietal tomatoes Puzata khata: an overview of yield, properties and characteristics of cultivation

Content

Tomato varietal abundance in 2012 was supplemented by Puzata khata tomatoes - a variety bred by Russian breeders headed by V. Kachainik. The next year, the tomato was registered in the State Register with a recommendation for growing in open ground and greenhouses.

Large variety of tomato

The variety is resistant to tomato diseases, fruitful, characterized by sweet large tomatoes of good keeping quality. Puzata khata tomatoes are easily recognizable among competitors by their characteristic fruits: they have a slightly elongated ribbed shape. It often becomes a determining factor when choosing a variety for planting: tomatoes look very unusual in the garden and in salads, blanks.

Description and main characteristics of the variety

Puzata khata belongs to indeterminate early maturing varieties (from the moment of emergence to the ripening of the first tomatoes, 95-100 days pass).

Notes to the gardener
Despite the stated dates, there is a slower ripening of fruits in the territory of central Russia, where, due to weather conditions, the plant receives less heat and light.

A tomato bush requires pinching and a garter - without support, thin long stems cannot withstand the weight of ripening fruits and break, lie on the ground. The plant stretches up to 2 m in height under ideal conditions. According to gardeners, in most greenhouses, the growth of Puzata khat does not reach up to 175 cm. Due to the well-developed root and characteristics of the variety, the tomato bears fruit until the frost, and in greenhouse conditions, the fruiting period is even extended by heating the greenhouse.

Cut tomato

The plant is lightly covered with leaves, which is convenient for harvesting. For growing large fruits and preventing diseases, it is recommended to remove new shoots from the bush. To avoid thickening, the bushes are planted 3-4 per 1 m² or at a distance of 40-50 cm for linear planting.

Fruit properties and yield

With proper care, the average weight of tomatoes is 250-300 g, the fruits of the first harvest are larger - up to 700-800 g. 3-5 tomatoes are tied on each cluster.

The pulp of ripe tomatoes is juicy, tender, sweet, without acidity, almost without seeds. It is enclosed in a dense skin, which takes on a muted red color as it matures. Tomatoes can be transported and stored well, recognizable by their ribbed shape and large size.

The purpose of the fruits is universal - they are delicious in salads, preparations, ketchups, sauces. Sweet and suitable for dietary, baby food.

From 1 m² of tomato ridge remove 9-11 kg of the crop. You can cut greenish tomatoes - they go well, and as they ripen, they continue to retain their visual appeal and taste. The variety is harvested regardless of weather conditions.

Growing features

The variety is grown mainly in seedlings. For seedlings, a low box is prepared with a mixture of garden soil and humus, the soil is moistened. At the beginning of March, the seeds are treated with solutions of a fungicide and a growth stimulant and sown, deepening by 2 cm. The sowing box is placed in a warm room, when sprouting, the sprouts are transferred to a well-lit place. Seedlings are watered moderately, after the appearance of 2-3 full leaves they dive.

Seedlings are planted in open ground in late May-early June, when the threat of frost has passed and the earth warms up. To the greenhouse - 2 weeks earlier.

Seedlings of tomatoes

For seedling bushes, prepare holes of a size sufficient for free placement of the root, apply top dressing.Plants are planted, leaving the first leaves that appear at a distance of up to 4 cm from the ground. If the seedlings are overgrown, - are guided by the second or third sheet. The bush is formed into 1 or 2 stems, removing weaker and fragile shoots. To limit growth, pinch the top of the stem.

The variety easily responds to top dressing, which allows increasing yields, improving the nutritional properties of the soil. The soil for tomato ridges is fertilized in the fall, scattering manure (4 kg per 1 m²) before digging, or in the spring, adding the same amount of compost with 5 tbsp. l. superphosphate and 1 tbsp. l. potassium chloride.

Tomatoes are watered 2 times a week, fertilizers are applied at the same interval - organic (diluted or infused mullein, bird droppings) or mineral complex fertilizers. In a dry season, water is often watered.

Advice
It is recommended to alternate mineral fertilizing with organic matter.

Diseases and pests

The Puzata khata variety is resistant to the main types of pests and tomato diseases, as well as to diseases of potato crops (unlike many tomatoes). However, in the event of an outbreak of fungal or bacterial infection in neighboring beds, it is recommended to treat tomato bushes with fungicides.

Large tomato

To protect the plant from insect pests, preventive treatments are carried out on the leaf with a weak solution of potassium permanganate. Washing the affected bush with warm soapy water helps to protect tomatoes from aphids. From whitefly, thrips, spider mites, the plant is sprayed with store-bought fungicides or are fought by folk methods, for example, using a decoction of celandine. The Colorado potato beetle is dealt with by collecting larvae and beetles. If the area for growing tomatoes is large, insecticides are used.

Pros and cons of the variety

The Puzata Khata variety is not hybrid - its seeds can be harvested from year to year, and tomatoes can be grown from them without losing quality. The variety is fruitful regardless of climatic fluctuations, large-fruited, resistant to many diseases, distinguished by tasty and well-stored tomatoes.

Tomato seeds in a pack

The advantages outweigh the disadvantages, which include the following features:

  • needs pinching, shaping a bush and removing stepchildren throughout the season;
  • requires fertile light soil;
  • necessarily requires feeding;
  • depends on pollination.

Puzata khata tomatoes are large, with a harmonious taste, versatile in use, and have a characteristic ribbed shape. The variety is interesting for its yield and disease resistance. To obtain high yields, care is important, in particular, regular feeding.
