When raspberries ripen in central Russia: varieties and timing

In Russia, depending on the climatic zone, raspberries ripen at temperatures from 23 degrees Celsius. This takes place at the end of June to mid-July.

Depending on the weather conditions and the region, raspberries of the same variety will ripen with a difference of 5-15 days, as can be seen from the table below.

In the Moscow region, raspberries are harvested starting from the second half of July and ending on the 20th of August. In the Urals, the berry begins to sing in mid-July. Late raspberry varieties bear fruit in August.

In eastern Siberia, the ripening peak occurs at the end of the 2nd July decade. In the Kiev region, this falls on the middle of June.

Collection of early varieties

The beginning of the growing season for raspberries is in April. In central Russia, this happens in the middle of the last month of spring. Duration of flowering - 10-14 days, according to dates - on the 20th of May - the first decade of the first summer month.

Then comes the period of formation of multi-roots. They ripen in late June and early July.

At this time, the following varieties of berries are harvested:

The crop is harvested within 30-45 days, before the beginning of August.

Medium varieties

The culture begins to mature in the first decade of May. This period lasts until the second half of June. The appearance of the first flowers is observed at 20-30 of the first summer month.

Harvesting begins in early July.

Late berry

Late fruits must be picked in August-September.

During the season, remontant raspberries bear fruit up to 2 times. The first fruiting occurs after pruning. Young shoots and color develop over the next 30-60 days. This period can last until early-mid October.

The most widespread variety of forest raspberries in the Russian territory is Ordinary red. It grows:

• in the forest-steppe zone.

You can collect fruits from the 2nd decade of July. At the end of August, only small areas of wild berries remain. In the southern regions of Russia, the harvest lasts until 2 half of September - wild fruits grow in coastal areas.

The life cycle is 2 years. At 1 year of life, the growth of young green shoots is observed, which have many pointed thorns. The color of the leaves is light green at the top and whitish at the bottom. Leaves are slightly drooping.

In the 2nd year of life, flowers are formed. Depending on the area, this occurs in the 3rd decade of June, and lasts until July 30-31.
