A number of disadvantages that need to be considered when planting a variety on a site:

  1. Careful care required. The variety reacts to drought and high humidity. Culture tolerates short-term changes, but not long-term ones.
  2. If stored incorrectly, the skin will crack.
  3. If the shade of the fruit is too light, then paste and juice are very rarely made of them. The products are tasty, but inferior to those made from red fruits.
  4. Seed germination lasts 6 years - a small indicator in comparison with other varieties.

Planting: recommendations for the gardener

Pink flamingo tomatoes are grown by seedlings. Sowing rules:

  1. Seeds and soil before planting are treated with a solution of potassium permanganate for disinfection. Then the seeds are washed in clean water.
  2. Sowing dates are late March or early April. It is not recommended to plant later, since the last tomatoes on the bush may not have time to ripen before the onset of cold weather.
  3. Capacious boxes are taken for sowing. The soil is loose and fertile. A drainage layer is required.
  4. The seeds are simply spread over the ground. They are not buried, but simply sprinkled with earth.
  5. Before germination, the boxes are covered with foil and placed in a warm place.
  6. After the sprouts appear, the film is removed.
  7. Tomatoes need moderate soil moisture, sunlight and a temperature of +25 degrees for growth.
  8. With the appearance of two real leaves, a pick is carried out - the transplantation of the healthiest and strongest shoots into new, more free containers.
  9. In new pots, the sprouts should develop for another 2 months. Upon reaching this age, they are moved to open ground or a greenhouse.

For transplanting into open ground, choose a sunny place. The soil is desirable fertile. It's good if carrots, cabbage, legumes grew on this place earlier. If the soil is not saturated with nutrients, it is recommended to dig it up in the fall and add 4 kg of humus for every 1 m2... In the spring, the soil is additionally fertilized with superphosphate (80 g per 1 m2) and potassium chloride (20 g).

So that the tall bush is not cramped, a distance of at least 30-40 cm is maintained between the holes, 70 between the rows. It is better to think over the supports in advance, since the variety requires garters because of the fragile stems.

Advice
To make tomatoes less likely to hurt and grow strong, in addition to preventive procedures, it is recommended to plant siderat plants next to them. it lupine, alfalfa, oil radish and others. Siderata improve the composition of the soil and prevent the growth of weeds.

Care rules

Compliance with the rules of care will provide the gardener with an excellent harvest. Under favorable conditions, fruits may appear on day 90-95, but this is rather an exception. Typically, on day 110, the first, largest pink tomatoes should ripen.

How to properly care for the bush on the site:

  1. The bush is formed into 1-2 stems. Regularly remove stepsons, and when 5-6 brushes appear on the main stem, pinch it.
  2. Most tomatoes do not respond well to cold watering, and Pink Flamingos are no exception.
  3. Moisten the soil in the morning or evening so that the sun does not cause active evaporation of water droplets.
  4. Top dressing for a bush is limited to 2-3 procedures during the growing season. Pink flamingo tomatoes respond well to organics. The first feeding falls on the third week after planting the shoots on the site. Use chicken droppings or mullein: a bucket of solution (1:10) is enough for 15-20 bushes. Additionally, the composition is improved with wood ash (250-300 g) and superphosphate (50-60 g). Organic matter is introduced after abundant soil moisture. After feeding, the bushes are watered again.
  5. Organic fertilizers alternate with mineral complexes at the beginning of flowering and fruiting.
  6. Phosphorus-potassium fertilizing will help the bush to stay healthy. The plant is resistant to most diseases of tomatoes, but sometimes it is affected by apical rot. The disease manifests itself in the form of rusty spots on the leaves and darkening at the base of the fruit.

Pink Flamingo is a worthy variety for the site: the fruits are large, ripen together and for a long time. Compliance with the rules of agricultural technology should not scare an experienced gardener, but for a beginner it will be a useful practice.
